I left work on Friday at noon thanks to the gracious half-day our University President “surprises” us with most years (i.e. every year I’ve worked there). I booked it to Kentucky because Saturday I had a date with my favorite guy, my daddio. After months of talking about it Dad and I donned our collegiate gear and headed to Rupp Arena. The game was the first one both of us attended at Rupp and the first time my Alma Matar (Belmont) played his (UK). So as we headed up I-64 to Lexington I was wearing a Belmont shirt and he was wearing UK.
It was really fun to see a game at Rupp. The arena was packed and to be honest, our seat’s were not awesome. We had to sit diagonally to see the court. But the arena was larger than I imagined the atmosphere was electric. Thankfully people were friendly about me cheering against the home team!
It was great to watch two of my favorite teams play each other and get to watch my first game at Rupp with Dad.
