In January I shared my thoughts on Stitch Fix, a personalize styling service. At the end of March I received my 3rd fix in the mail. One of the best things about Stitch Fix is that every time you “check-out” you indicate which items you are keeping and when you are mailing back. You’re asked to give feedback on the over all fit, price and style of each item. They take that feedback and use it to adjust your next fix. This means each fix you receive is closer and closer to the perfect box.
Let me just say my fix number 3 was almost perfect. I ended up only keeping one thing from the fix because the day it came in the mail my car battery died. Transportation to work won the battle for my bank account that weekend. Boo.
Here are a few quick pictures of what was in the box!
This dress was the first to be sent back. I love the colors and pattern and also would love add more dresses to my work wardrobe However, the dress is made of that material that’s really stretch and the waist band is entirely elastic. This resulted in an outfit that’s puffy in all the wrong places. It was a no go.
Next out of the box was this really pretty coral shirt. The material was incredibly soft and I love this color (it makes me look tanner). However, the fabric was very flimsy and even picking the shirt up to fold it caused the buttons to pop open. I have a feeling that is too revealing for anyone!
Next up was this lovely stripped tank top. I lovelovelove how soft it was and the ribbing/texture of it was interesting. The colors made it work with just about any of my jackets or sweaters and it would have been great for work or a causal outfit. But, I knew I couldn’t keep everything (or could only keep one) and I wasn’t quite confident enough to embrace the horizontal stripes. It got returned.
The fourth item was this awesome, blue 3/4 sleeve shirt. I can’t tell you how much I loved this shirt. It was perfect for work or play. The color left me with visions of UK game day. The only reason this got cut was because the Rav needed a new battery and Dave Ramsey wouldn’t consider this shirt an emergency.
This sweater was the winner of the box. I love the color and it looks good with just about everything in my closet. The fit was excellent and the versatility made it a clear winner. I love that I can wear it going to a casual dinner or with a black dress to a fancier event. I have gotten my money’s worth out of this sweater already!
I love using Stitch Fix. It’s fun to have a mystery box of clothes show up at your doorstep to play dress-up. The stylist take my feedback from each box and the other information I give them to put together an excellently personalize each fix for me. If you are a woman who wants stylish clothes but doesn’t want the hassel of shopping, you should check it out!
